20 THINGS- THING 14

I am one of those weird people who wholeheartedly believe in the Loch Ness Monster. I'm a bit iffy on BigFoot, but the Loch Ness Monster is real! I just know in my heart of hearts that she's real. (It's obviously a girl.) Someday I'll gonna go to Loch Ness, and I'm gonna be super sweet and talk to her and she'll come out and say "Hi" to me. She's just one of those things... like fairies and Hogwarts... that I'm positive exist. How could they not? Someday all the doubters will see! I know they will.

Friday, May 13

AR-T. Artie Abrams.

Ya'll are gonna get sick of me posting, but I had to do this.
Cause I'm super excited that it's finally Friday. This week has went on for foreva.
And what better opportunity to show you a Glee song??

you complete me

I know that in the world of style, baggy tee-shirts are not on the list of things to wear, and they're definitely not something interesting enough to post on. But, to be honest, the days that you don't see my outfits I'm wearing a tee shirt. At least for the most part. What can I say? I like my tee shirts. They're comfy.
I feel like if you just wear them and have no confidence at all you're gonna look frumpy, but in my heart of hearts I believe anyone can own a tee if they have some confidence. If you look like you pulled a tee shirt on, didn't wash your hair, and your face is greasy it's not gonna look the best. But I believe you can make it fabulous. You just have to have an air of fabulousness about you.

In other news, I'm going to go fishing tonight. For the first time in my life, and it's not just any kind of fishing... it's sucker fishing. I don't really know the difference from sucker fishing and regular fishing, except that we're using a net and not a pole. Hopefully I'll remember to bring my camera and take some pic-chaas.
In even other news I still haven't gotten my Flickr to work, so I got sick of waiting and made another account. So picture quality is back up!! I don't know if anyone else can see the huge quality difference, but I know I can and I love it so much more!

20 THINGS- THING 13

Look who decided to do another video! Thiiis kid.
Don't pretend you're not proud of me, cause I know you are.
I feel like I'm a little more... loose? in this one. Which is good.. right?
But, for realz gals, I have a trillion tee shirts. It's sort of insane.

20 THINGS- THING 12

Thing number 12 is that I wish I had fun hair. More, I wish I was brave enough to have fun hair, but I'm too much of a wimp. Especially red. Ohhh, how I wish I had red hair and green eyes. But, seriously folks, what is a better accessory than your hair?? There is none I tell you! And my accessory is very boring.
I wish I was brave like Scarlett, or Kaylah. But I really feel like I couldn't pull it off. Maybe someday I'll get highlights or something, I've never put any color in my hair... ever. No highlights. No nothing. Yes. I'm boring. I need to be crazier sometimes.

magic school deck

One of the best things about being homeschooled is being able to sit outside and do my school. Especially this time of year. I was all bummed when I woke up, because it was thundering and raining and I didn't think I'd be able to read outside, but it cleared up (thank heavens!) and I did some school outside. I even got a 92% on my Algebra 2 Test, which was glorious because I haven't been a good child and I've been slacking in the Algebra department. But I was super pleased with myself for doing so well! Go me!
Actually, if I'm being honest I love Algebra. I love Math in general. It's fun. Yes, I'm a huge nerd. But do I care? Not a bit. Nerd's are cute anyways.

Can you tell I'm obsessed with that red bandana? Because I definitely am. I have to restrain myself from wearing it everyday. Which is definitely hard. But I'm doing it, day by day. It's a tough road. But seriously, I love that thing. I just feel so... fifties. Or maybe it's forties, I'm not sure. Whatever it is, I like it.
When I did my little "20 Things" video, I put on my cardigan but I definitely don't like the outfit with the cardigan as much as I thought I would. I like it simple (big surprise there, right gals?).

What do you think of "The Equation" thing I've been doing? Too nerdy? Too long? I'm not sure what I think about it, yet. I sorta like it, it's original, but it's definitely long. Maybe I'll figure something else out. Who knows. I sure as heck don't.

What I Wore:
Vigoss Cropped Jeans (Thrifted); V-Neck T-shirt (Borrowed once again from Scar); Red Bandana (Borrowed from Rebekah); Teal Cardigan [in video (Target)]

One again, sorry about picture quality. My computer is still acting like a turd, and I can't get my flickr to work... oh the joy.

20 THINGS- THING 11

But seriously. My voice is annoying to me.
Maybe that's why I hate talking on phones.
Did you like my puppy in the backgroud? She's freaking huge.
P.S. Sorry for the weird ending, but I'd already had three takes and didn't want to do it again. Sorrrry for my laziness.

20 THINGS- THING 10

I love Nerdfighters. I am a Nerdfighter.
And Hank is my favorite. He's so darn cute. But John is pretty fantastic too. Nerdfighters are just... the bee's knees. If you don't know what a Nerdfighter is... go shoot yourself. Or just look 'em up on youtube. Whichever is easier for you right now.
DFTBA.

brave

Let's pretend that my eyes are open in that last picture, k?
The wind is... well, windy. And it's sorta rainy.
Which this kid isn't happy about.
Ok, Lauren, stop talking about the weather. It's not interesting.

I didn't even wear this outfit out of the house today, how lame am I?
Actually Tuesdays are my "go nowhere" days. So it's fairly normal.
I actually like it. It's like... country chic. Maybe.

So in other news, I was thinking about how people sometimes look down on fashion bloggers because they think they're obsessed with themselves because they take so many pictures. But I was thinking, those of us who post pictures of ourselves often, we're pretty brave! It sometimes doesn't do much for one's self esteem to look at the pictures. Especially if the outfit didn't work too well.

Ok. So now that I've bored you, I'm gonna get going on a bike ride. (:

20 THINGS- THING 9

I love Amanda Bynes.
She's absolutely hilarious. I love her facial expressions.
Her best is definitely "She's the Man", but Sydney White is amazing also. And her in Hairspray is great. And What I Like About You. And that one movie where she's fake lost on an island. I just love her.

Plus she got to work with Channing Tatum. Who is... yeah.
Bro. Brother... Brethern?

MMH #9

Basically this bike looks just like mine, and I need this shirt.
Simple as that.

2. Braid
Lately, I've just loved braids. I think it's because right now braids are the only way I can really keep my weird length bangs out of my face. And braids are really nice for work, which I'm always in need of good work things.

I just love paper lanterns, I really want some for my bunk. It's always in need of some light down in my cave. But these, these are just too cute.

4. Hello Kitty Maxi
I'm still iffy about maxi dresses. They look adorable on other girls, but I wonder if I'm waaay too short to even attempt to pull it off. But, sometimes you just gotta go with what you like and forget whether it looks fabulous on you or not.

5. More Braids
I really want to figure out how to do this one.
It's just so so pretty.
If anyone knows how, or knows what it's called so I can find some sort of tutorial, I'd be oh so grateful. (:

20 THINGS- THING 8

Before I get into a whole big deal about myself, I'd like to take a moment to say Happy Mother's Day. Especially to my mother, who is probably one of the only readers out there. So Happy Mother's Day, Mama. I love you.

Ok. Mushy-ness is over.
Thing numba eight:
I'm practically blind. My prescription is -6.50 in one eye and -7.0 in the other. Which makes  life hard. I cannot walk around my own house without glasses or contacts in. Which is annoying.
Funny story. This morning I'm getting ready to take a shower, right? I don't have my contacts in as I've just woken up, and I obviously can't wear glasses in the shower. So I grab the "face wash" off of the counter. I hop in the shower, wash my hair, shave my legs, all the normal crap. Now, I never wash my face until the last three or so minutes of my shower. Don't ask me why, that's just my little routine. So I grab the "face wash" and when I grab it I realize that this bottle is a cylinder. My face wash is not in a bottle like that. So I grab it and bring it about half of an inch away from my face so I can actually read it... and it's contact solution.
Face, meet palm. Palm, meet face.

P.S. If you enlarge that picture, you can see Scarlett in my eyes.
Annnd a quick little side-not do-hicky, that picture was taken on the 18th of May last year. That was first full dive in Lake Michigan for the year. This year I'm gonna have to go on the 16th. I'll just, you know, dodge the ice.

20 THINGS- THING 7

Having flat feet means a couple things:
1. I can't join the military. Boo.
(Actually there was a time in my life I was really depressed about that.)
2. Although I have super tiny feet (size 4ish) I have to buy dress shoes in way bigger sizes because my feet just get super wide.
3. It makes my feet hurt super bad, and my back.

Picture take my Scarlett.
(Yeah. They're actually my feetsies)

20 THINGS- THING 6

I'm addicted to Vanilla Coke.
It's like a source of happiness to my soul.
I kid you not.
It's really hard to come by, and there's only one store within an hour of me that I know sells it. Whenever I go there, I get one and it's such a wonderful little treat.
To me, drinks are waaay yummier than a candy bar or some other for of goodie.
My favorites are:
1. Vanilla Coke
2. Naked Juice. If you haven't ever tried it. Just do it. NOT the green. The green is gross, you gotta go for the blueish-purple one. It's da bomb.
3. Tea. Of any sort. Hot tea. Iced Tea. Sweet Tea. Green Tea. I drink it all.
4. Monster. I know it's not really good for you or whatever, but I don't give a hoot. I don't drink it that often and it's delicious.
5. Jilbert's Chocolate Milk. There is no better chocolate milk than Jilbert's.
Thing numba six: I like to drink. Ha.

kitty's are fabulous.

Are you proud of me, interweb?
Are you, are you, are you?????
Just say yes. Or my soul will be crushed by you heartless hooligans.

Would you now like to know why you are all proud of me?
Well, stop this begging and I'll tell you!!
I figured something out today!
Something huge in the world of style.
I figured out what my "go to" piece is.
(Unfortunately I still haven't figured out the "go to outfit". Just the piece.)
Flannel. Shirt.
Ok. So maybe that's slightly boring for the rest of the world, but I don't give a hoot. Cause I'm proud of my hot self! (Let's face it, I'm pretty darn hot.)*
But for realz. Flannel shirt=Lauren's Secret Lover.

P.S. I apologize for sucky picture quality. I generally use flickr, buuut my computer is being a hunk of junk and doing dumb things all the time. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna save up my money (maybe the money I'll be saving by riding my bike to work) and invest in a Mac this summer. Hopefully.

The Equation:
Hello Kitty tank (Forever21)
+
Flannel Hoodie (J.C. Penney)
+
Cropped Pants (Thrifted)

Biking Outfit

Also, I have the cutest cat in the world.
Exhibit A:

If you click on the first picture it'll look better.
*Please realize I say this in sarcasm*

wishing

Maybe no one else finds this funny.
But I don't give a hoot. It's freaking hilarious.
And I for one wish that cake went straight to my boobs.

20 THINGS- THING 5

It's secretly hard to think up random things about myself.
(P.S. That's another word I say a lot in the real world "secretly")
So, I apologize ahead of time if they become extremely boring.
(Who am I kidding? Anything I write will never be boring. Because I'm awesome.)

I'm a picky eater.
Food in general just disgusts me, but there are the few exceptions.
I also have rules about my food.
I don't eat leftovers. They're gross.
I refuse to eat cold pizza. That also includes pizza that's been reheated.
I do not eat ketchup.
I was never one of those kids who hated vegetables, tho. I looove my fruits and veggies, but apparently you cannot live on those alone.

Wednesday, May 4

and i brush and brush and brush and brush my hair

So now I shall tell you all why you're seeing my hair.
Ever since I was little I've loved, loved, loved long hair. It's just soo pretty. Most of my life my hair has been super long (like to my butt). Every couple years I'll cut it all off (I've given 12 inches to Locks of Love three times) but I usually grow it back out soon enough.
It's been awhile since I've grown it out, but I've decided I'm doing it! It hasn't been super long since... sixth grade maybe. But I'm gonna do it!
So, once a month I'm gonna take a picture of my hair to see how much it's grown.
As of today my ponytail is 12 inches long.

20 THINGS- THING 4

I'm obsessed with handwriting.
I've always thought that penmanship was extremely important. I read in a book once that when you write your handwriting is your face and you don't want it to be dirty and ugly.
I took that to heart, and I practiced all the time. In church (when I probably should have been listening.), when I was bored at home, at school. Unfortunately that doesn't show much in my handwriting now.
I've secretly wanted to do that little handwriting game for awhile anyways.
Soo... now you see my handwriting. Is my face dirty and ugly?

1. Your name and Blog name
2. Your URL
3. Write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
4. Your favorite quote
5. Your favorite song: right now and all time
6. Your favorite artists
7. Something you say a lot
8. Who you tag

Tuesday, May 3

you can call me rosie

Today was party day at my home, so I didn't have to do school.
Yay for me!
But my wittle friend Tan-Tan came over to chill and I had to take some books back to the library. So Scarlett, Tanner and I headed over there and stopped by a little wrecked school bus on the way back. It's been there ever since I can remember, and we decided we wanna make that our hangout this summer. We might try and fix it up or something cool like that.

Sometimes I just feel like wearing things I don't normally wear, and sometimes I just so happen to feel like I pull it off.
Maybe I felt like wearing this because I've been studying World War 2, and this is sorta Rosie the Riveter-esque.
Just so you can all remember for me: I need a plain white tee-shirt. I don't know how it's possible that the Queen of Casual doesn't have a white tee.

The Equation
Destroyed Jeans (J.C. Penney)
+
Red Flannel Shirt (Borrowed from 11 year old sister)
+
White Tee (Borrowed from Scar)
+
Blue Moccasins (Gift from Grandma)
+
Red Bandanna (Borrowed from Rebekah)

Rose the Riveter Outfit

20 THINGS- THING 3

If you can't figure out which one I am, I'm the one in the middle.
With the boys workout shorts on and the purple hat.
I'm also the oldest one out of all these girls.

I started out small, and I've never really grown.
I'm a whopping 4 feet 10 inches tall. If I wanted to I could compete in the dwarf Olympics. Which would be cool. Also, if I was one inch shorter I'd have to be in a car seat. Which is not cool.
I don't generally mind being short. It's who I am. I always say I wouldn't know what to do if I ever reach five feet. That I'd be scared being that tall. Which is mostly true. It does get annoying when people think I'm 11 (because along with being short, I have a lack of... what I like to call boobage.) or when I can't reach the gas on cars. But I generally find a way to get around things, because I'm extremely determined.
So, thing number 3: I'm a shortie.

Monday, May 2

20 Things- Thing 2

I hate talking on phones.
My palms get all sweaty, and I can't speak right.
I literally trip over my words, and my voice gets squeaky.
I'm just so awkward. It's like all the awkwardness inside of me that I generally try to hide comes out when you hand me a phone.
What's even weirder is that apparently when I was little I would practically beg to talk on the phone to absolutely anyone. Wow, I've changed.

Sunday, May 1

20 things- thing 1

I got this idea from Elycia.
My birthday is this month (the 20th) and until my birthday I'm gonna post one thing a day about myself. Cool, no?
Ever since I was little I've been deathly scared of chickens.
Chicks I like. I'll hold them, and pet them, and name them. But as soon as they turn into chickens... I hate them.
But, there is (of course) a story as to why.
When I was little and in gymnastics, I loved my leotard. I wore it everywhere (well I wore them everywhere. I had at least 3.) and one day I wore it to my cousins house. Well, they live on a dairy farm and have chickens. My big cousin, affectionately called Sethie-Poo-Scope (I don't know why), asked me if I knew if chickens could fly. Well, I didn't know, so we decided to find out. He picked up a chicken and threw it in the air, just as I was turning around to answer my calling Mother. Well, this leotard I was wearing was one with a hole in the back (sorta like this) and the chicken landed on my back and scratched me and pecked at me. So now I'm deathly afraid of chickens.
My dream is someday to have a bunch of chickens and raise them, just so I can kill them all. I know. I'm weird.

MMH #8

So technically I'm posting this on Sunday.
But, hey, whatever. I'm doing it because tomorrow I have a cast party to go to and I don't feel like getting up any time before 10, just cause I have a headache.
So, here goes.

1. Buttons.
I don't generally love buttons all that much, but these music note ones are fabulous. And the birdie too. Even the heart and cross-bones.

2. Most prettiest room.
I adore the color of the walls. In case you haven't noticed by the color of my blog and such, I love the color blue. It's my favorite.

3. Reading owls.
Owls are all the rage, but I can honestly say they've held a special place in my heart for much longer than the fad's been around. My MiMiMi (my great grandma, my grandma is called MiMi) loved owls and they were all over her house.
This cute little picture is just that... cute.

4. Red Chucks.
I've wanted a pair for awhile. But now, I really want them.
I went to work today, and there's a new rule about not wearing flip flops, so I decided I must get a pair of these for the summer.

5. Letters.
I always wished I could have a pen-pal. I did in fourth grade, and we kept up for a long time. Eventually we got some email accounts, and started writing through that. Which was a shame, cause writing letters is a lost art form. I really wish I had someone to write letters to. If anyone wants a pen pal I'm down for it!

What do you think of me posting 5 pictures on Must-Have Monday?
